My National Anthem
Watching the Olympics has reminded me of what a great song the United States Nation Anthem is. I remembered back to when I was younger and recalled some of the best renditions that I ever heard or saw. Attached below are some of my favorites... maybe you guys have some others that you would like to share.
#5 Dixie Chicks: 2003 Super Bowl
#4 Jordin Sparks: 2008 Super Bowl
#3 Natalie Gilbert with and assist from Maurice Cheeks: Maurice was always the assist man when he played for the 76ers.
#2 Whitney Huston: First Superbowl that the National Anthem was a big deal.
#1 Marvin Gay: Simply Amazing... 1981 NBA All Star Game
Honorable Mention:
Jose Feliciano: 1968 MLB World Series (in Detroit). Ok, I wasn't around then, but at least I can say that it is well song and unique. What made Jose's version so unique is that it was the first time that anyone had sang their own rendition of the national anthem.
