Italy and the Good Ol' USA Soccer Recap

I took my dad out to the local Italian Cafe to watch the Italy / USA match for Fathers Day. My dad and I don't get a lot of chances to do this kind of stuff, and I had hoped that we could male bond for a few hours together. To make it even better my brother at the last minute decided to join us as well. So there we were the three of us eating pizza and pounding a few at the cafe.

There is one adage that always seems to be a universal truth and that is not to get more then three Italian males together or else there is going to be an argument over something. I am pleased to let you know that this male bonding event was great. The three of us didn't even raise the ire of each other as we typically can. We just sat there and watched the game and talked about sports. It went so well that when my dad suggested that we go play some bocce at the local club both my brother and I agreed. The tree of us spent about 6 hours together and we had a great time.

As for the game itself... it was a tie.

"Bocce", I'm guessing that's a card game?

Sounds like you had a great day, I never really ever knew my dad, (long story) and my father-in-law, who I bonded with greatly, died a few years ago.

We had a great "Father's Day" here. We went to see the Da Vinci Code followed by a nice (as I'm the cook I can't boast and say better than "nice") Sunday Roast.

Bocce is an Italian leisure activity… similar to Bowling and Crockett. I’ll need to write on the subject one day.

Ok FE. . . I get it now. . . you are Italian. . . I am a slow Sicilian, but eventually do catch on.
I have not played Bocce ball since last summer with my only Italian friend and her husband. There kids made them a bocce ball pit and it is nice. I have been eyeballing a set for my parents, but just haven't broke down and bought it.
I am glad the bonding was succesful and yes I do know how the tempers can flare at the least little thing. . . but then you get mad . . . yell . . . and get over it. . . . or at least try to get over it.
Glad your father's day was good.
Ciao
