Music Monday - Linkin Park
Linkin Park - Shadow Of The Day
Linkin Park is an eclectic mixture of hip hop and rock musicians. They were formed back in 1996 and their sound has been liked by the public ever since. Their distinctive sounds has let to such hits as Bleed it Out, In the End, One Step Closer, and Numb are just a few of their hits.
Shadow of the Day is a song about death and more likely suicide. Like most songs, the meaning of the vocals is the last I like about a particular song. The parts of the song that I like about this song or most songs is the fact that unusual instruments are used. As guitarist Brad Delson in Kerrang! magazine stated that "this was probably the most difficult arrangement to nail. It sounded very derivative at first but then we kept replacing different elements on it. We put an acoustic guitar on it, then an electric banjo and then a marimba. It's definitely one of the best songs we've written."
I close both locks below the window
I close both blinds and turn away
Sometimes solutions aren't so simple
Sometimes good bye's the only away
[Chorus]
And the sun will set for you
The sun will set for you
And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey
And the sun will set for you
[End Chorus]
And cards and flowers on your window
Your friends all plead for you to stay
Sometimes beginnings aren't so simple
Sometimes good bye's the only way
[Chorus]
And the sun will set for you
The sun will set for you
And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey
And the sun will set for you
And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey
And the sun will set for you
And the shadow of the day
Will embrace the world in grey
And the sun will set for you
[End Chorus]

Lions Trade Roy Williams to Cowboys

Let's see what he does now that he is with a new team. Don't get me wrong, he is an exciting and still young player, but the Cowboys sure paid a lot for him. To get him, the Cowboys traded their first-round pick, third-round pick, and a sixth-round pick in the 2009 draft. The Cowboys also get the Lions seventh-round pick in addition to Williams.
There is a huge risk with obtaining Roy since he has a huge ego. He has the habit of flashing the first down sign even though the Lions are routinely getting killed. He also complains about not getting the ball enough and demands the ball even though he is the number two receiver on the Lions. On the Cowboys team, he is still is the number two receiver behind Terrell Owens. If things don't go well for the Cowboys they will not only have to contend with TO mouthing off but now also Roy.
If thing go well then, when TO is getting double teamed it will leave Roy with single coverage and a good quarterback getting him the ball. Only time will tell and at least for the next five years we will have plenty of time to see if it was a good or bad trade for the Cowboys.
For the Lions who are in total disarray again, this should attract a top flight General Manager to the franchise as they will have 5 of the top 100 draft picks in next years draft. This should be a quick way to infuse additional talent to a team lacking in so many areas.
Listen to what Roy said on a Dallas radio station after being traded to the Cowboys

Shorts
- Best last name in Football.... The field goal kicker for the Minnesota Vikings is .... Longwell.
- I filed my Jeep up with gas for the first time in almost 2 years.
- The stock market is crazy... GM is under $5 for the first time in over 50 years.
- Pelosi said that she wants to call the Congress back into session so they can pass another 150 billion bailout... when will they stop... they don't seem to know or care that WE will need to pay this back.
- In this part of the world we thank the heavens that the Wings are back on the ice and it's not long before the Pistons take the floor again.
- Itchy is going to Homecomming with a senior... I'm not crazy about it, but at least I get to drive them.

Music Monday - Green Day
Green Day - Wake me up when September ends
Just to get my blog back in step, Zotime is back at it again just one week late. This week we feature Green Day, the three piece band from California, that was formed back in 1987. They are punk band but this song is an homage to lead singer (Billie Joe Armstrong) father who died o of cancer on September 1st, 1982. At his father's funeral, Billie cried, ran home and locked himself in his room. When his mother got home and knocked on the door to Billie's room, Billie simply said, "Wake me up when September ends," hence the title.
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Like my father's come to pass
Seven years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends
Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are
As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when September ends
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Ring out the bells again
Like we did when spring began
Wake me up when September ends
Here comes the rain again
Falling from the stars
Drenched in my pain again
Becoming who we are
As my memory rests
But never forgets what I lost
Wake me up when September ends
Summer has come and passed
The innocent can never last
Wake me up when September ends
Like my father's come to pass
Twenty years has gone so fast
Wake me up when September ends
Wake me up when September ends

Music Monday - Radiohead
Radiohead - Creep
I decided to go old school on you guys and so this week Radiohead is the featured artist. Radiohead is a five piece English alternative music band that has been around since the early '90's.
Creep is the bands first single, and is the classic underdog song as the vocals tell the story of a someone who is just not really good enough. Jonny Greenwood didn't like the song very much and tried to sabotage it. You can hear his attempt when you hear the three blasts of guitar noise that precede the chorus.
When you were here before
Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry
You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
I wish I was special
You're so fucking special
But I'm a creep
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here
I don't care if it hurts
I want to have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul
I want you to notice when I'm not around
You're so fucking special
I wish I was special
But I'm a creep
I'm a weirdo
What the hell I'm doing here?
I don't belong here
She's running out again
She's running out
She runs runs runs
Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You're so fucking special
I wish I was special
But I'm a creep
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here
I don't belong here
